The language laboratory plays an important role in the language learning process. The various features of the language laboratory at MGI provide best technological aid for learning. It has a number of advanced facilities that can help a student learn a language with proficiency. It provides a facility which allows the student to listen to model pronunciation through their individual headphones and microphones. It enables the students to repeat and record their voice besides accent, stress and all other aspects of the phonetics of a language. The students listen to their performance and compare with the model, and do self-assessment. Practice sessions of functional grammar are given to the students to improve their grammar. Apart from these, there are exercises for around 400 hrs where the students can build their resumes and practical models for Group Discussions. Further, listening exercises of the lab provide visual exercises as well through latest technological aids such as LCD etc. This lab ensures good communication skills not only for the bright students but the weaker too.

A Master of Arts program in English literature entails the intensive study of both classic and modern works of poetry and prose. The student will be pushed to read at a faster pace and with greater comprehension than ever before. But it’s not all about reading, as students are expected to regularly discuss and write about the meaning and significance of what they have read.
