M.Tech. - Nano Technology

Nano Technology

M.Tech in Nanotechnology is a multidisciplinary course that includes the study of nano-materials and the course includes projects and lab works. After completion of the course, candidates can be employed as nanotechnologists in various industries ranging from auto and aerospace industry to forensics.

Syllabus/ Scheme

B.Tech. Physics Laboratory:

Department of Physics has two well equipped laboratories for B.Tech. students. The laboratories consist of several apparatus based on the principles of mechanics, laser, oscillations, acoustics etc. This helps students to have a clear insight into the theories and laws in physics. Apart from the laboratories optic based apparatus are kept in separate dark room. The students are asked to perform 

 

the experiments individually with a focus to understand the working of the equipments. Apart from the regular practicals, the students are involved in making mini projects in the  laboratory based on their curriculum.

B.Sc. Laboratory

Department is successfully running B. Sc. Physics laboratory. The laboratory consists of different equipments of thermodynamics, mechanics, electrodynamics and optics. Different types of pendulum such as bar, torsional, disc etc are also available in this lab. The apparatus enlights the basic ideas of physics for science students. Apart from the regular practicals, the students are encouraged for making mini projects in the laboratories based on their curriculum.

Diploma Laboratory

Department of Physics is successfully running Diploma physics lab which consist of various equipments of mechanics, surface tension, sound, optics, laser, transfer of heat, semiconductor etc. The apparatus gives students to learn the general concepts of physics.

Research Laboratory

The department of Physics has a well developed research lab for both the faculty and students to do research in various streams of material and nano physics. There are various equipments such as magnetic stirrer, heating mantle, centrifuge machine etc for synthesis of nonmaterials. Also it is equipped with various advanced equipments such as spin coater, UV- VIS spectrophotometer, optical microscope, four probe setup, Hall effect setup etc for various analysis of synthesized nanomaterials. 

Departmental Library

In addition to the central library, the department has its own library which has around 100 reference books, mini Projects reports and old question papers for reference to students and staff members.
